Deposit: 40% deposit to secure lodges, park permits, and flights.
Final Payment: Due 30 days before departure.
Cancellation: 60+ days: full refund minus $200 admin fee. 30–60 days: 50% refund. <30 days: non-refundable (permits and flights are pre-paid).
Frequently asked questions
Safari is safe. Vehicles stay at legal distances from wildlife (no close approaches). Guides are trained and experienced. Animals ignore vehicles (they're used to them). No walking in open areas without guide. Lodges have fenced areas for safety. In practice, families with kids have been doing safari for decades - it's one of the safest adventures you can take. Wildlife avoids humans. Risk of illness (altitude, mosquito-borne) is higher than wildlife risk.
Recommended: 6+. Under 6, attention spans and vehicle time are challenging. 4–5 year-olds CAN do it but may need extra breaks. Some lodges can provide activities for younger kids (pools, nature walks) while older siblings are on drives. Altitude in Ngorongoro (2,300m) can affect toddlers - consult doctor beforehand. Many families manage multi-age groups (5-year-old + 9-year-old + 14-year-old) successfully with flexibility from guides.
