Kikuletwa Hotspring Tour

Moshi
Half Day / Full Day
from $85 pp

Kikuletwa Hot Springs sits in the middle of African bush - a geothermal oasis where crystal-clear turquoise water stays warm year-round. No resorts. No crowds. Just an off-road drive through baobab trees and dry riverbeds to reach a pool of water that seems out of place in this landscape.

You swim in naturally warm water. Use the rope swing if you want adrenaline. Or float and do nothing. Tiny fish (Garra Rufa, called "doctor fish") will nibble dead skin off your feet - it's a free natural pedicure that happens to feel weird and tickle.

Half-day trip from Arusha (2 hours) or Moshi (1.5 hours). The drive is the adventure itself. The water is the reward.

Your Half-Day and Full-Day

Morning: Drive & Arrival (2 hours from Arusha)

Pickup from your hotel. Drive scenic route toward Moshi or deeper into Kilimanjaro region. You might see Mount Kilimanjaro depending on weather. Then the paved road ends. Off-road adventure begins - rugged track through bushland, dry riverbeds, baobab trees, acacia forest.

You pass local communities, see how people actually live in this region. The landscape feels untouched. By the time you reach the springs (after 2 hours driving), you've experienced Tanzania beyond tourist areas.

Midday: The Hotsprings (3–4 hours)

Arrive at the oasis. Crystal-clear turquoise water surrounded by green shade trees. You can swim freely in the warm water, use the rope swing for an adrenaline rush, wade and let doctor fish nibble your feet (natural pedicure), snorkel if you rent gear, sit under trees and do absolutely nothing, or spot turtles and catfish swimming naturally.

Most people spend 3–4 hours here. It's unstructured. You decide how to spend the time. This is the point - presence, not performance.

Afternoon: Return

Drive back to Arusha/Moshi (2 hours). You arrive mid-afternoon, tired and relaxed.
